SME Bank was recognized as the best business finance bank among more than 1,000 evaluated financial institutions worldwide at the SME Banking Forum in Vienna.
“2025 was a transformational year for us: we scaled lending faster and more responsibly than ever, we also significantly increased our non-lending banking income, and expanded our geographical footprint and ambition. Therefore, this recognition is a significant assessment of the work of the entire SME Bank team and the implementation of our high ambitions,” says Thorsten Seeger, Board Member and Chief International Business Officer at SME Bank.
Financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is a strategic priority for SME Bank. The bank’s goal is to ensure that financing is accessible, efficient, and quickly available to SMEs in Lithuania and other European Union (EU) countries. SME Bank operates not only in Lithuania, but also in other Baltic countries, as well as in Finland and the Netherlands, and is planning ambitious expansion in other EU countries.
This is the second award given to SME Bank by independent evaluators recently. In November, the international finance and banking magazine International Banker recognized SME Bank as the best breakthrough bank in Lithuania in its 2025 awards.
