Two new members – Raimondas Berniūnas and Vaidotas Cucėnas – have joined the board of SME Bank, a digital bank for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These appointments strengthen the bank’s strategic management and set the goal of implementing the bank’s ambitious growth and development strategy.

“Not only in Lithuania, but also throughout Europe, SMEs have enormous potential, but it is limited by the fact that financing is not always available in large banks. SME Bank is ready to change this situation. I am convinced that SME Bank, which flexibly adapts to business needs, will become the main digital financial partner for small and medium-sized enterprises,” says Raimondas Berniūnas, member of the SME Bank board.

Raimondas Berniūnas is an experienced financial sector professional with more than 20 years of experience in the banking sector, especially in credit risk management, organizational transformation and growth strategies. He holds positions on the boards of various financial institutions in the Baltic States, and has held management positions at SEB and Revolut banks.

“My international business development experience will contribute to the growth of SME Bank in Europe. The past years of working with SMEs have helped to better understand the needs of business and financing, so in the near future we will focus on the digital development of new products and services and their easier use for business clients,” says Vaidotas Cucėnas, member of the board of SME Bank.

Vaidotas Cucėnas has more than 15 years of experience in finance, business management and communication. He started his career at the international company Coca-Cola, worked at Nordea for 10 years, and later joined the startup Revolut. V. Cucėnas brings business management expertise to SME Bank. His accumulated experience will help to implement new products and solutions for clients and will contribute to effective organizational management, strengthening business communication and international development projects.
